Lightning Sessions

These speakers will be actually teaching delegates information skills using Summon (i.e. treating delegates as they would their library users)

  • Tim Leonard (University Campus Oldham)
  • David Jenkins (MMU)
  • J. Adam Edwards (Middlesex University)

Parallel Breakout Sessions

Each of these 3 breakout session will last 30 minutes and each one will be run twice. The first round of breakout sessions will be from 14:10-14:40 and the second will be from 14:45-15:15. This gives delegates the opportunity to attend two sessions. Delegates will need to sign up for their chosen sessions on the day, on a first-come-first-served basis. Information on how to do this will be provided at the registration desk on the morning.

  • “Getting out of the ‘trough of disillusionment'” (Dave Pattern)
  • “Datamining the student discovery experience” (Matt Borg)
  • “Shifting the focus from key skills to higher-order learning outcomes” (Emma Coonan)

The event is taking place in the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School (Lecture Theatre 1/Room G.26), All Saints campus, which is a few minutes walk along Oxford Road from Manchester Oxford Road Railway Station (Google Map)

  1. Any chance of the lightning sessions being posted – I was particularly impressed by the Summon full text in 5 mins presentation and would like to see it again if possible.
