Join the event online!

We will be streaming and recording parts of the 2nd UK Information Literacy & Summon Day live online as a webinar, consisting of two sessions:

  • 10:10 AM – 1:00 PM BST – The first session consists of the main presentations, where speakers present their ideas and experiences regarding Summon and information literacy to an audience in the usual way. Please note, there will be a comfort break during this session from 11:30 AM – 11:40 AM BST.
  •  1:30 PM – 1:50 PM BST – The second session consists of the lightning talks, where speakers quickly demonstrate how they teach Summon, treating the audience as they would their library users.

You can register for the webinar here.

If you would like to attend just one session, then please feel free! Simply register as normal and just attend the session you want to be part of. There is some unhelpful automatically generated-wording on the booking form that reads “You are expected to attend all 2 sessions” but please ignore this.

We will provide details on how the recordings will be made available after the event.

As well as videos, we’ll hopefully be liveblogging the sessions and you can follow the Twitter hashtag #summonIL.

Outline agenda now available!

The outline agenda is now available:

The big day will soon be upon us and we’re looking forward to a great day of discussion, knowledge-sharing and networking!

*N.B. this has been amended slightly since being posted originally on 17th July 2013 due to more speakers coming forward.

Interested in speaking at the 2nd UK Information Literacy & Summon Day?

We still have space for speakers at the 2nd UK Information Literacy & Summon Day. Speaking at the event offers a great opportunity to share ideas and approaches, spark discussion and contribute to the development of information literacy practice. It may also help you develop your public speaking skills and build your CV to boot!

So, if you want to talk to attendees about your thoughts and/or experiences regarding Summon and information literacy then it’d be great to hear from you!

We are also looking for people to share their expertise by actually teaching attendees information skills using Summon (i.e. treating attendees as you would your library users) as part of a series of lightning sessions.

Please contact us at to register your interest.
